Kiosk
Why is the scale not turning on?
Troubleshooting steps for when the kiosk scale will not power on.
๐ Overview
The Brecknell 6702U scale draws power directly from the kiosk over USB. When the scale won't turn on, the cause is almost always a loose USB connection.
The kiosk scale is powered only by USB. If it's not turning on, the issue is usually a loose cable.
๐ ๏ธ Troubleshooting Steps
Step 1. Check USB connections
The scale is powered solely by its USB cable. If that connection becomes loose, the scale loses power and cannot communicate with the kiosk.
- Reseat the USB connection at the scale to make sure it's plugged in securely.
- Trace the cable to the back of the kiosk and confirm it's plugged in firmly there as well.
- Reseat any segment of the cable run that feels loose.

๐ก Tips
- If the scale still won't power on after reseating the cable and pressing the On/Off button, try a different USB port on the kiosk to rule out a bad port.
- If those steps don't resolve it, the scale or USB cable may be defective โ escalate to support.
