How do I resolve an expired license alert?

Steps to clear a License Expired alert by registering the kiosk to fetch a valid license from Manager Mode.

๐Ÿ“‹ Overview

A License Expired alert means your kiosk's software license has lapsed. While the alert is active, the kiosk cannot process any transactions.

The fix is quick โ€” you can re-register the kiosk directly from Manager Mode without needing to contact support in most cases.

๐Ÿ”ง Resolution

Step 1. Register the Kiosk

  1. Navigate to Manager Mode โ†’ Advanced โ†’ Register Kiosk
  1. Tap Register Kiosk โ€” this prompts the kiosk to fetch and apply a valid license from Mashgin's servers
  1. Wait for the process to complete
  1. A green check mark next to Register Kiosk confirms the license was applied successfully
  1. Return to the home screen and verify the License Expired alert is gone

The kiosk needs an active internet connection to fetch the license. If the kiosk is offline, restore connectivity first and then retry.

Step 2. If the alert doesn't clear

If the License Expired alert remains after registering, or you see an "Unable to get a license" error:

  1. Confirm the kiosk has a stable internet connection
  1. Try the Register Kiosk step again
  1. If it still fails, contact Mashgin Support โ€” the license may need to be manually renewed on the account

Do not attempt to process transactions while the License Expired alert is active. The kiosk will not complete payments until the license is restored.
