How to Calibrate your kiosk
Guide for calibrating the kiosk’s cameras

📸 What is Camera Calibration?
Calibration updates the software to tell the kiosk where it's supposed to look! Without it, item recognition and transactions can fail. Cameras drift over time from temperature changes or impacts during use/cleaning.
🏁 How to Calibrate 🏁
Step 1. Camera Checks
- Go to Manager Mode > Advanced > Calibration
- Confirm all 8 cameras are showing, and not stuck
- Check lenses for film or dust

Step 2. Required items
- Calibration board
- Item 3-4 inches tall ( 7-10 cm )
- Item 5-8 inches tall ( 13-23 cm )
💡 TIP: Select items with a flat top!

Step 3. Empty + Flat Poses
- Take one pose of the base completely empty
- Place the board on the base and take 7-10 poses
- Move the board between poses
- The goal it to cover the base with poses, usually this can be done with a 3x3 grid

Step 4. Short Item Poses
- Place the calibration board on top of the tall item ( 3-4 in / 7-10 cm )
- Take 7-10 poses
- Move the board between poses
- Take poses until you have covered the base
- Make sure the board is not extending past the black line around the base

Step 5. Tall Item Poses
- Place the calibration board on top of the tall item ( 5-8 in / 13-23 cm )
- Take 7-10 poses
- Move the board between poses
- Take poses until you have covered the base
- Make sure the board is not extending past the black line around the base

Step 6. Shallow Angle Poses
- Lean the board horizontally against your item
- Take 7-10 poses
- Move the board between poses
- Always face the board to the center of the base.

Step 7. Steep Angle Poses
- Lean the board Vertically against an item
- Take 7-10 poses
- Move the board between poses
- Always face the board to the center of the base.

Step 8. Complete & verify
- Remove all items from the base
- Press the green Calibrate button — do not interrupt
- Press ‘Cancel’
- Confirm ‘Ok’ shows for each camera

🛠️ Troubleshooting 🛠️
Pattern Not Visible Alerts
Issue: Pattern not visible during calibration.
Fix:
- Clear camera views of obstructions
- Clean base surface
- Check lenses for film/dust
- Remove the calibration board from the base


Calibration Fails Repeatedly
Issue: Calibration won't complete after multiple attempts.
Fix:
- Confirm all cameras online (Advanced > Cams)
- Ensure 40–50 poses captured across all heights/angles
- Check that board isn't slipping and hands are off the base
- Confirm first pose was an empty base
- Restart from scratch if any pose was bad
Cameras Offline or Missing
Issue: Cameras not detected, can't start calibration.
Fix:
- Power cycle the kiosk
- Check camera cable connections
