Creator
What are Stations?
Stations are how Creator groups menu items into logical sections — like Beverages, Sides, or Hot Foods. They control the order items appear at checkout and where they live in your menu structure.
📋 Overview
In Creator, a station is a logical grouping of menu items — for example, Beverages, Hot Foods, Snacks, or Sides. Every item you sell must be assigned to a station, and stations control the order in which items appear during checkout and across reporting.
Stations are managed under the Stations entry in the Creator sidebar. From there, you can add new stations, rename or reorder them, edit their items, or remove ones you no longer use.
🧭 How Stations Fit Into the Menu Structure
Level | What It Is | Example |
Station | A top-level grouping of items | Houses all items assigned to that station |
Category | An optional sub-group within a station | Cold Drinks |
Item | The individual SKU customers buy | 12oz Bottled Water |
An item can only belong to one station at a time. If you need an item to appear in two places, look at Tags instead — those let you cross-cut items without changing their primary station.
🏷️ Why Stations Matter
- Customer-facing order — stations control the visual order of items on the kiosk and on Byte tablets.
- Reporting — sales totals roll up by station in Cloud, so a clean station structure makes reports easier to read.
- Operations — stations are also used for kitchen routing in some configurations (e.g., "send Hot Foods station to the grill ticket printer").
