How to Add a Receipt Logo
Upload a custom logo to print on kiosk receipts. Covers file requirements, the upload flow in Cloud Settings, and how to verify the logo prints correctly.
This guide walks you through uploading a custom receipt logo so it appears at the top of every printed kiosk receipt. New to Cloud settings? Start with Creator Location Settings Overview.
๐ Overview
A custom logo is one of the most-asked-for branding touches at a new location โ it makes printed receipts feel like part of your business rather than a generic kiosk slip. Use this guide when standing up a new site, rebranding, or replacing an outdated logo.
The logo lives at the top center of every printed receipt. It does not appear on emailed receipts or on the kiosk side display.
๐ผ๏ธ File Requirements
Before you upload, make sure your image meets these requirements:
- Format: PNG (preferred) or JPG
- Background: Transparent or white โ receipt paper is white, so a colored background will print as a visible block
- Color: Black-and-white or grayscale prints sharpest on thermal receipt printers
- Aspect ratio: Wider than tall โ the print area is roughly 2.5ร1 inches
- Resolution: 300ร100 pixels minimum; 600ร200 looks crisper
Tip: Color logos still upload, but thermal printers convert them to black-and-white when printing. Test what your logo looks like in pure black-and-white before uploading.
Avoid logos with thin lines or fine text โ they tend to disappear on receipt prints.
๐ค How to Upload
Step 1. Open Settings in Cloud
- Go to cloud.mashgin.com and log in
- Select your location from the location list
- Click Settings in the left sidebar
- Scroll to the Receipt section (or use the in-page search to find "Receipt Logo")

Step 2. Upload your image
- Click Upload (or drag the file into the upload area)
- Choose the PNG or JPG file from your computer
- A preview of the logo appears once the upload completes
If the preview looks off-center or stretched, the file's aspect ratio doesn't match the print area. Resize and re-upload.

Step 3. Save and sync
- Click Save at the bottom of the Settings page
- The change syncs to the kiosk automatically within a couple of minutes
- Print a test receipt from the kiosk to confirm the logo looks right

๐ก Tips
- Don't have a print-ready logo? Free tools like Canva or Photopea can resize and convert any image to a transparent PNG.
- Test before a busy day. Logo changes apply to every printed receipt going forward โ print a test the moment you save so you can fix it immediately if something looks off.
- One logo per location. If you operate multiple sites and want the same logo everywhere, repeat these steps in each location's Settings page. There's no global upload (yet).
๐ ๏ธ Troubleshooting
Logo doesn't appear on printed receipts
Issue: Saved the logo in Cloud but printed receipts still show no logo.
Fix:
- Wait 1โ2 minutes for the change to sync to the kiosk
- If still missing, enter Manage Mode and press Sync DB
- Print a test receipt
- If the logo still doesn't appear, re-open Cloud Settings and confirm the upload preview is still there โ some browsers cache an old preview without actually saving the file
Logo prints as a black box or is unreadable
Issue: The logo prints but looks like a solid block, smudge, or barely-visible outline.
Fix:
- The image probably has a colored or non-transparent background โ thermal printers render anything non-white as black
- Re-export the logo with a transparent background (PNG) or solid white background
- Re-upload and print a test receipt
Logo looks stretched or cut off
Issue: The printed logo is squished, distorted, or the edges are cropped.
Fix:
- The aspect ratio doesn't match the print area
- Resize the image to roughly 2.5:1 width-to-height before uploading (e.g. 600ร240 pixels)
- Re-upload and verify with a test print
