Step-by-step instructions for installing a rear CSR scanner on a Mashgin kiosk.

๐Ÿ”ง Installation Steps

Step 1. Unbox the scanner and verify parts

  • Take the scanner out of its box and packaging.

Step 3. Activate the scanner

If the location uses ID scanning, follow the activation procedure to scan the configuration barcodes in order.

๐Ÿ’ก

Most scanners will come activated; go ahead and test before attempting to activate.

Step 4. Test scan

Confirm the scanner is working by scanning any item with a barcode.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

  • Listen for the reconnect beep when plugging in the USB cable โ€” it confirms the kiosk detected the scanner.
  • If the scanner powers on but won't read barcodes, it likely needs to be activated (Step 3).
