Moneris User Guide
How the Moneris payment gateway integrates with Mashgin kiosks using Verifone P400 readers — requirements, installation steps, and vendor support.
📋 Overview
Moneris is a payment gateway that uses Verifone P400 card readers. This guide covers the checkout flow, requirements, installation, and vendor support.
🛒 Checkout Flow
- Customer places item(s) on the base of the kiosk.
- Customer uses a credit/debit card or tap-to-pay on the Verifone reader to complete the transaction.

✅ Requirements
- Confirm with Mashgin Support that the payment credentials are in place.
- The Verifone P400 terminal must be set to a static or reserved IP.
- The required mounting screw for the P400 female thread is an M3 x 0.5 thread pitch screw. A 10mm length is recommended to accommodate a flat and locking washer. No drilling required. If you're unsure how to mount the reader, reach out to Mashgin Support.
🔧 Installation
- Confirm with Mashgin Support that you are on-site before plugging in the payment device.
- Using a known-good LAN cable and a working internet connection, plug one end into your network and the other into the hub ETH port.
- Ensure the AC adapter is plugged into a known-good AC outlet, then plug the other end into the terminal's HUB power cable connection.
- Connect the cable to the reader. Be careful plugging the pin connector into the back of the reader — pins can be damaged if not seated properly.
- Reach out to Mashgin Support at help@mashgin.com to configure and pair the reader.
