How to Set Up a Container
Step-by-step guide to creating a container in Creator, attaching items, and posing it at the kiosk.
This guide walks through creating a container in Creator, attaching menu items to it, and posing it at the kiosk. New to containers? Start with What are Containers?.
📦 What You'll Need
- A container item for the shared packaging (e.g. "Pizza Box")
- Menu items to attach (e.g. "Cheese Pizza", "Pepperoni Pizza") — see How to add and edit menu items
- Access to Creator and Manage Mode on the kiosk
⚙️ Setup Steps
Step 1. Create the Container Item
- Log into Creator and create a new item (e.g. "Pizza Box")
- Set the price to $0.00 — individual items carry the price
- Set availability to All-Day
- Skip poses for now — that's Step 3
The container item must always be priced at $0.00. Prices are set on the individual items inside.
Step 2. Create the Items and Attach the Container
- Create each menu item in Creator (e.g. "Cheese Pizza", "Pepperoni Pizza")
- Set the correct price and daypart on each — see How to Add Day Parts
- In the Item Relations field, select the container item from Step 1
- Leave Global Matches blank on individual items
Since Cheese and Pepperoni are both All-Day, the kiosk will prompt the customer to choose when the box is placed on the base. If two items have different dayparts, the kiosk auto-selects the available one — no prompt shown.
Step 3. Pose the Container at the Kiosk
Only the container gets poses — never the individual items inside. For detailed posing steps, see How to Add Poses to a Container.
- Bring the physical container (the pizza box) to the kiosk
- Enter Manage Mode → Items → search for the container
- Add at least 20 poses in various positions
- Exit Manage Mode and test by placing the container on the base

Never add poses to individual items attached to a container — this will cause recognition issues.
