How do I update the kiosk's assigned location?
Step-by-step guide to connecting a kiosk to a new assigned location using the Initial Setup process via Manage Mode → Advanced → Initial Setup.

To connect a kiosk to a new location, you must complete the Initial Setup process. Navigate to How do I access kiosk manage mode? → Advanced → Initial Setup to complete the steps below.

🔧 Steps
Step 1. Start Initial Setup
Press Start to begin the initial setup process.

Step 2. Setup Hardware
Select the appropriate hardware depending on your device:
- Self-Checkout Kiosk = Kiosk
- Tablet / Kitchen Ordering = Kiosk Zero
- Power Counter Mini = Mini
- Standard Power Counter = Power Counter
If you are unsure of the hardware type, contact Mashgin Support for confirmation.

Step 3. Setup Network
- Ensure the kiosk is physically connected to the local network via the Ethernet port on the back.
- Configure the network based on your location's requirements:
- Static IP: Ask your network team for the IP, Netmask, Gateway, and DNS configurations. Press the square next to Static IP, enter the details, then press Save.
- DHCP: Press the square next to DHCP, then press Save.
- Navigate to the Test tab and press Test. All sections should show a green check and "yes" for a successful connection.
- If you encounter connectivity issues, contact Mashgin Support and your local network team — reference Mashgin's Network Architecture guidelines.
- Press Next to continue once connected.



Step 4. Setup Location
- Delete the existing location ID, type in the new location ID, then press Details.
- If you are unsure of the correct location ID, contact Mashgin Support.
- Verify the location name and timezone are correct, then press Save.
- Press Next to continue. A warning will appear stating the database will be erased — this is expected. Press Confirm to proceed.
- The kiosk ID will be displayed — take note of it for your records.
- Press Next to continue.


Step 5. Calibrate Cameras
- Brand new kiosk: Camera calibration is required. See How to Calibrate your kiosk for details.
- Existing kiosk moving to a new location: Calibration is not required — press Next to continue.
Step 6. Register Serials
Ensure the MPU Serial Number, Body Serial Number, Manufacturer, and Hardware Version details are all present.
If any details are missing, contact Mashgin Support. Press Save and Next to continue.

Step 7. Finish Setup
Press Restart to complete the Initial Setup process. The kiosk will reboot and load to the standard checkout screen.
If the kiosk does not boot up properly, contact Mashgin Support.
