Kiosk
What is the kiosk locked alert?
Learn what triggers the kiosk locked alert, how it affects sales, and how to resolve it by restoring internet connectivity.
๐ Overview

The kiosk locked alert appears when your kiosk has been offline for more than 14 consecutive days. Without an active internet connection, the kiosk cannot:
- Receive menu or pricing updates pushed from Mashgin Cloud
- Download software updates
- Renew its operating license with Mashgin servers
Once the 14-day threshold is reached, the kiosk is automatically taken out of service until connectivity is restored and verified.
๐ How does this alert affect operations?
When the kiosk locked alert is active, the standard checkout screen is replaced with:
"Kiosk Closed: Please connect to the internet to use the kiosk"
The kiosk will not process any transactions until internet connectivity is restored and the kiosk successfully reconnects to Mashgin servers.
๐ How do I resolve this alert?
Restoring internet connectivity will clear the alert. Once a valid network connection is detected, the kiosk will automatically reconnect to Mashgin servers and resume normal operation.
For step-by-step troubleshooting, follow the guide below:
If the kiosk was already showing a license alert before going offline, restoring the network connection may not immediately clear both alerts. The kiosk needs to successfully renew its license after reconnecting. See the license alert articles in Relevant Articles below.
