How to Change Operation Hours

Update the open/close hours for a Mashgin location in Creator. The kiosk uses these hours to determine when checkout is available and when sleep mode activates.

🕒 Overview

Operation hours tell the kiosk when your location is open for business. Outside of these hours, the kiosk shows a closed message instead of the menu, and the sleep timer activates more aggressively. You can update operation hours per day of the week directly in Creator.

What you'll need:

  • The open and close times you want to set for each day
💡

If your location uses Day Parts for menu scheduling, those are configured separately. Operation Hours control whether the kiosk is open at all; Day Parts control which menu items show up at different times of day.

📋 How to Update Operation Hours

Step 1. Open Settings in Creator

  1. Go to creator.mashgin.com and log in
  1. Select your location from the top of the screen (if you manage multiple locations)
  1. In the left sidebar, click "SETTINGS"
  1. Scroll to the Operation Hours section

Step 2. Set hours for each day

For each day of the week:

  1. Set the Open Time — the earliest time the kiosk should accept orders
  1. Set the Close Time — the latest time the kiosk should accept orders
  1. Use the closed toggle to mark a day as fully closed (no orders accepted)

⚠️

For 24-hour locations, set Open Time to 00:00 and Close Time to 23:59 for every day. Do not set the same value for both — that will mark the day as closed.

Step 3. Save and sync

  1. Click "Save" at the bottom of the Settings page
  1. Changes sync to the kiosk automatically within 30 minutes
  1. To verify, walk up to the kiosk — it should accept orders during your set hours and show a closed screen outside them

🛠️ Troubleshooting

Kiosk shows closed during open hours

Issue: The kiosk is showing a closed message even though it should be open per the schedule.

Fix:

  1. Confirm the time zone on the kiosk matches the location's local time — a wrong time zone is the most common cause
  1. Check the Open / Close times in Creator — a transposed AM/PM or 00:00 – 00:00 will mark the day closed
  1. Allow up to 30 minutes for the kiosk to sync after a change, or manually sync the kiosk
  1. Contact Mashgin Support if the times look right and the kiosk still won't open

Kiosk stays open after closing time

Issue: The kiosk continues to accept orders past the configured close time.

Fix:

  1. Double-check the Close Time in Creator — confirm it's set to the actual closing time and not midnight
  1. Confirm the kiosk's time zone is correct
  1. Sync the kiosk to pull the latest hours
