How to Add or Edit Mobile Ordering Location Images

Add or update the photo that represents your location on Mashgin's Mobile Ordering site, directly from Creator's location settings.

๐Ÿ“‹ Overview

The location image on Mobile Ordering is the first thing customers see when they pick where to order โ€” a clear, on-brand photo helps the right people find the right location. Each Mashgin location has its own image, managed inside Creator's per-location settings.

When to use this:

  • Standing up a new location and adding its hero image for the first time
  • Rebranding or seasonal refresh of an existing location's photo
  • Replacing a low-quality or outdated image

If the location already has an image:

  • Hover over the existing picture above the location name
  • Click Change Image and select the new file
๐Ÿ’ก

Use a high-resolution photo of the storefront, lobby, or branded signage. Avoid screenshots, low-light shots, or photos with people's faces in the frame.

Step 3. Save your changes

  1. Confirm the new image preview looks correct
  1. Click Save Changes in the bottom right of the settings panel

Step 4. Verify on Mobile Ordering

  1. Wait 1โ€“2 minutes for the change to propagate to Mashgin's Mobile Ordering site
  1. Open your Mobile Ordering site and navigate to the location list
  1. Confirm the new image appears on the location card

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

  • Use a landscape (wider-than-tall) photo. The Mobile Ordering location card crops to a horizontal rectangle, so portrait photos get clipped on the sides.
  • Keep file size reasonable. Anything under ~2 MB uploads quickly and renders well on phones over cellular data.
  • One location at a time. There's no bulk image uploader โ€” repeat these steps for each location that needs a photo.
  • Photos are per-location. Updating one location's image will not change any other location's image.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Troubleshooting

The new image isn't showing on Mobile Ordering

Issue: You saved a new image in Creator, but the Mobile Ordering site still shows the old one (or a blank tile).

Fix:

  1. Wait 1โ€“2 minutes for the propagation to complete, then hard-refresh the Mobile Ordering page (โŒ˜ + Shift + R on Mac, Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows)
  1. Confirm you saved on the correct location โ€” the image is per-location
  1. Clear the Mobile Ordering site's cache in your browser if the old image is being cached locally

The image looks stretched or cropped wrong

Issue: The uploaded photo appears distorted or cuts off important content on the location card.

Fix:

  1. Re-upload using a landscape-orientation photo (wider than tall) so the auto-crop frames the subject correctly
  1. Aim for a 16:9 or similar wide aspect ratio
  1. Keep the focal point (logo, sign, doorway) toward the center of the frame so it survives the crop

I can't find the gear icon next to the location

Issue: The settings (โš™๏ธ) button isn't appearing next to the location name.

Fix:

  1. Confirm your Creator user has location-edit permissions โ€” read-only users won't see the gear icon
  1. Refresh Creator (โŒ˜ + R / Ctrl + R) to reload the sidebar
  1. If the icon is still missing, contact support โ€” your role may need to be updated
