How do I access kiosk manage mode? – Mashgin Support Articles

📋 Overview

Manage Mode gives authorized users access to kiosk settings, item management, and administrative controls. There are three ways to access it on any Mashgin kiosk.

🛠️ How to Access Manage Mode

Method 1. Tap the Mashgin Logo

Tap the Mashgin logo at the top center of the kiosk screen. This will bring up the passcode prompt.

Method 2. Swipe Left to Right

Swipe from left to right across the kiosk screen to bring up the passcode prompt.

Method 3. Scan the Manager Key Card

Scan the manager key card on the kiosk scanner. This bypasses the passcode prompt and directly opens Manage Mode.

If the manager card does not work, your location may have a custom passcode — check with your site manager or contact Mashgin Support.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

The default passcode doesn't work

Issue: Tapping the logo or swiping opens the passcode prompt, but passcode is rejected.

Fix:

Your location may have a custom passcode set up by your site manager — check with them first

If no one knows the passcode, contact Mashgin Support and we can help you reset it

I don't have a Manager Key card

Issue: Method 3 isn't available because no Manager Key card was provided.

Fix:

Use Method 1 (tap the Mashgin logo) or Method 2 (swipe) with your passcode instead

💡 Tips

The Manager Key card is the fastest method — no passcode needed.

The Mashgin logo tap and left-to-right swipe both open the same passcode prompt.

You can exit Manage Mode at any time by tapping the back arrow or X to return to the normal checkout screen.

If you're doing multiple Manage Mode tasks (adding items, calibrating, etc.), you don't need to exit and re-enter between them.

For security, avoid sharing your passcode widely. Manager Key cards are the safer option for staff who need regular access.
