How can tags be utilized in reporting?

Explains how item tags applied in Creator appear as a reporting dimension in Cloud, letting you track total sales and revenue by custom category in the Dashboard and exports.

๐Ÿ“‹ Overview

Tags are labels applied to menu items in Creator that appear as a reporting dimension in Cloud. They let you group and track items by category โ€” such as alcohol vs. na-beverage โ€” to see total sales and revenue for each group.

๐Ÿท๏ธ How Tags Work in Reporting

Tracking sales by tag

Apply tags to items in Creator. Because you create the tag names, you can define any grouping that makes sense for your business.

Example: Tag all alcoholic beverages with alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages with na-beverage. After saving and generating sales, Cloud will show totals for each tag.

Multiple tags per item

You can apply multiple tags to a single item. That item's sales and quantity will be counted under each tag it belongs to.

Example: A water bottle tagged with both water and na-beverage appears in the totals for both tags.

๐Ÿ“Š Where to Find Tag Data

Tagged item sales appear in two places:

  • Cloud Dashboard โ†’ Top Tags section

  • Exported reports (PDF and CSV) โ†’ Top Tags section
    • PDF

    • CSV

Tags must be added and saved in Creator before transactions occur for those sales to count. Transactions that happened before a tag was applied will not be retroactively counted under that tag.
