How to View Menu Item's Edit History
View the recent edits made to a menu item in Creator — who changed it, when, and what changed. Item history covers the past two weeks of changes per item.
⏰ Overview
Creator keeps a rolling two-week edit history for every menu item. Use the item history to see who changed what and when — useful for tracking down a price change, confirming a teammate's edit, or auditing a sequence of changes during a menu rollout.
What you'll need:
- Access to creator.mashgin.com
- The name of the item you want to inspect
Item history only covers the last two weeks. Changes older than that are not retained — if you need to audit older edits, you'll need to look at exports or backups.
📋 How to View an Item's History
Step 1. Open the item in Creator
- Go to creator.mashgin.com and log in
- Confirm you're in the correct location at the top of the screen
- On the All Items page, search for the item by name, Item ID, SKU, or POS ID
- Click the item to open the item editor

Step 2. Click the purple clock icon
In the bottom-left corner of the item editor, click the purple clock ⏰ icon. The item history panel opens.

Step 3. Review the edit history
The history panel lists every change made to this item in the past two weeks. Each entry shows:
- Date and time the edit was made
- Email address of the account that made the edit
- Item detail that was changed
- Location ID for the location
If no edits were made in the last two weeks, you'll see: "No history available from more than two weeks ago."
