Creator
How to Search for Menu Items
Find a specific item in Creator quickly using the search bar above the All Items grid — by name, item ID, or barcode.
📋 Overview
Find any item in Creator instantly using the search bar at the top of the All Items page. It searches across item name, ID, and barcode at the same time.
🔍 How to Search
Step 1. Open All Items in Creator
- Go to creator.mashgin.com and log in
- Confirm you're in the correct location at the top of the screen
- Click All Items in the left sidebar
Step 2. Type in the search bar
- Click the search bar at the top of the All Items grid
- Type part of the item name, item ID, or barcode/UPC
- The list filters in real time — no need to press Enter
- Clear the field (or click ✕) to reset and see all items again
Search is substring — typing pep matches Pepsi, Pepperoni, and Salt & Pepper Chips.
💡 Tips
- Use item ID or barcode for an exact match — item names can be inconsistent, IDs don't change.
- Search is per-location — if you can't find an item, make sure you're in the right location.
🛠️ Troubleshooting
Item doesn't appear in search results
Issue: You know the item exists but search returns nothing.
Fix:
- Confirm you're in the right location — search only covers the current location's menu
- Try a shorter search term, or search by item ID or barcode instead of the name
- If the location is mirrored from another, switch to the primary location to find and edit the item — see What is Menu Mirroring?
