💡

📺Kiosk Mode: Order vs Kitchen

Allows you to configure whether you want your Kiosk Zero tablet to be in an order mode or kitchen mode, depending on your setup and order flow.

Notion image
  • Order — When configured for orders, the tablet becomes customer-facing, allowing guests to select their station and what they’re ordering without a cashier's guidance
  • Kitchen — When configured for Kitchen, the tablet acts as a KDS, displaying incoming Tablet and Mobile orders first.
    • Staff can still place orders manually for customers if needed

⚒️Actions: Rebooting and Syncing

The actions section allows for quick tablet functions, such as restarting, syncing, and putting your kiosk to sleep. These can be helpful for troubleshooting, conserving energy, and updating your station menu(s).

  • Restart App — Quickly restarts the Kiosk Zero app. Great for troubleshooting or even helping your station changes quickly sync to the tablet.
  • Sync Database — Pulls down menu/station changes you have made so they can quickly reflect on the tablet.
  • Reconnect to Grid — Used when your kiosk may be failing the VPN/Grid Network Test. This allows the kiosk to reconnect to the Mashgin Grid.
  • Sleep — Puts the kiosk in a temporary sleep state to conserve energy. Can be awoken by a guest tapping the screen to start an order.
  • Hibernate — Puts the kiosk in a locked hibernation state to conserve energy and prevent any orders from occurring. Must be reopened by a manager to begin accepting orders.
  • Power — Fully powers down the kiosk and can only be powered back on via the power button on the back of the screen.
